President's Welcome

  • Dr. Kenneth St. Charles
St. Augustine High School offers a community where young men discover and develop to the fullness of each student's own unique capacity. It is an institution both rich in tradition and eager for growth. Young men are invited to experience education through dynamic instruction, self-directed exploration, and creative activity.

As a college preparatory school, our academic program challenges supports and inspires its students. The learning experience at St. Augustine vests boys with the skills and discipline not only to succeed at their next level of education but also to pursue individual talents, interests, and instill in each student the responsibilities of leadership in family, church, and community over the arc of their lives.

St. Augustine is also an intimate place, one animated by student engagement and connection. In our comparatively small community, boys are called to grow in faith as well as in mind. St. Augustine's robust music, athletics, and service programs depend on the enthusiastic participation and leadership of its young men. Similarly, our young men form friendships and attachments that will endure for a lifetime.

Our students are guided, encouraged, and challenged by talented, dedicated faculty. I continue to be impressed with the committed and dedicated men and women who show our students not only how to succeed in the classroom but in life. I am so very honored to work with these dedicated educators and consider it a great privilege to be able to support their endeavors.

Excellence is part of the culture at St. Augustine. In 1951 St. Augustine was founded to promote academic excellence, equality, personal integrity, and responsible citizenship. Today we are proud of the spirited way our young men and alumni continue to embody and further these ideals.

We seek students who are willing to carry the torch of excellence and who are willing to work toward building confidence and achieving success by earning it. In pursuit of its mission St. Augustine continues to challenge itself to be the premier training ground for leadership through academic excellence, moral values, Christian responsibility and reasonable, consistent discipline.

In my short tenure as president, I have had many opportunities to interact with individuals all around the nation who know of our school. Our school is respected and loved by the community because of our proud history and dedicated, accomplished alumni.

I am so very honored to have this job at this critical point in our history. I invite you to explore our website and get to know our community. I hope you will realize that we are more than a school. We are a community of faith committed to forming young men prepared to lead lives of leadership and service.

Together, let us ask God’s blessings on our school community that we might faithfully carry forth the mission entrusted to our care.

    Sincerely,
    Kenneth A. St. Charles, Ph.D. ’81
