8th Grade Rite of Passage

2021 Eighth Grade Rite of Passage Ceremony
Every positive change — every jump to a higher level of energy and awareness — involves a rite of passage. Each time, in order to ascend to a higher rung on the ladder of personal evolution, we must go through a period of discomfort, of initiation. Entering high school is such a transition that we celebrate with a Rite of Passage Ceremony.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025 on the celebration of their Rite of Passage. St. Augustine's 77 eighth graders marked the occasion with a celebratory mass on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Corpus Christi Epiphany Catholic Church.
A rite of passage is an important, sacred ceremony that highlights a transitional period in a person’s life- often marking the departure from one group in order to enter another. The ceremony marked the end of their middle school years and formally welcomed the young men into high school.
