St. Augustine Community raises $250,000 on Give Purple Day
More than 618 members of the St. Augustine community, including alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends, came together on June 18, to raise $250,000 in support of the school’s mission to educate, lead and build young men of faith. The totals included a $10,000 challenge gift from First Bank and Trust that matched the gifts from young alumni donors.
“Give Purple Day is all about participation and the power of collective giving,” said Kenneth St. Charles Ph.D. '81, President and CEO of St. Augustine High School. “This year, we received gifts ranging in size from $1 to $69 thousand, and each one is important and adds to our future success."
Give Purple Day and Beyond!
Give Purple Day was a success thanks to our loyal and committed supporters of the St. Augustine community. Six hundred eighteen donors contributed a quarter of a million dollars to make this year's Give Purple Day a great one. We all should be proud of exceeding our targeted goal this year.
While we have taken a moment to celebrate in good cheer, we recognize that Give Purple Day represents 17% of our overall revenue for the 2018-19 school year. We thank our individual donors, foundations and partners who have invested since the beginning of the school year.
"We remain focused on closing out this school year on July 31, with a banner year," said Aulston Taylor '98, Chief Development Officer. "Incorporating advanced technologies such as the mobile app including the real time donor recognition and funding thermometer along with timely communication from our Marketing Director - Melissa Duplantier, provided significant lift in gifts secured this year."
There are constant platforms that require funding and with your unwavering support, each of those areas can thrive. So, thank you for your commitment to our beloved school and know we cannot be the wonderful institution we are without your contributions.
