St. Augustine Mourns Loss of Beloved Teacher

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Mrs. Sharon Hudson-Neveu, science and English teacher at St. Augustine High School, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, September 4, following a long battle with cancer.

"The entire St. Augustine High School community is deeply saddened by the passing of our colleague, teacher, and friend, Mrs. Sharon Hudson-Neveu," said St. Augustine High School President and CEO, Kenneth St. Charles, Ph.D. "Mrs. Neveu was an exemplary teacher and mentor who cared deeply for her students, not only while they were in her class, but long after they graduated. She was devoted to the complete success of the school and without question ranks among the legendary teachers to have served at St. Augustine. This is a difficult time for the St. Aug family. We have suffered a tremendous loss and we express our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Neveu's entire family."

In addition to her teaching duties, she served as the 8th-grade moderator, the Purple Knight's Cheerleader moderator, and was a familiar face at all St. Augustine football and basketball games.

Mrs. Hudson-Neveu is survived by her husband, St. Augustine Technology Director Mr. Donald Neveu '92.

Counselors are readily available for any student, staff, or faculty member who may need support at this difficult time.

Details regarding funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date.
