St. Augustine High School is a college preparatory school for young men in grades 8-12 founded in 1951 by the Josephite priests and brothers. St. Augustine High School has built a legacy serving as the training ground for leadership through academic excellence, moral values, Christian responsibility, and reasonable, consistent discipline.

St. Augustine's Goals
- To open its doors to young men, especially the economically disadvantaged, who are willing to strive for excellence;
- To develop each individual to the fullness of his own unique capacity;
- To foster Christian values based on the sacred scriptures and Roman Catholic Tradition;
- To provide each student with educational opportunities and experiences related to his African-American heritage and his American citizenship;
- To instill in each student the responsibilities of leadership in family, church, community, and society-at-large; and,
- To carry out the mission of evangelization as part of the Josephite charism.
St. Augustine's Location
St. Augustine High School views its urban setting in the heart of New Orleans historic Seventh Ward as a significant advantage in fulfilling its goals, allowing its students to interact with the larger community and to learn leadership skills and civic responsibility as part of their overall development. Moreover, St. Augustine strives to create a dynamic and caring learning environment which it unites with its academic, extra-curricular, and athletic programs to help develop future leaders.
