Purple Knights to share their love of reading this Thursday and you’re invited!

St. Augustine High School will host “Family Literacy Night” on Thursday, November 5, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The event brings together education and entertainment wrapped around the importance of literacy and will take place in the St. Augustine High School dining hall at 2600 A.P. Tureaud Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119.

Highlights of the event will include student presentations, literacy themed games, surprises, food, prizes, entertainment, and fun for the whole family.

“The purpose of Family Literacy Night is to get the students and parents excited about reading through fun games and interactive projects,” said Sean J. Goodwin, Principal of St. Augustine High School. “When teens are excited about reading, they will want to read more and their skills, confidence and motivation to read will grow.”

The event is free and open to all parents, students and teachers. Attendees will meet with students and learn more about promoting literacy and reading. Light refreshments will be provided.

St. Augustine High School invites area families to participate in the school’s Family Literacy Night. Students will lead guests through a host of fun and educational literacy activities.
